About Us

Hidden Springs Ranch is a private, 300 acre facility located in serene and scenic Garner Valley.

We breed top quality Oldenburg GOV and KWPN dressage horses using the best of proven European bloodlines including Sandro Hit, Ampere, Bellissimo M, Quaterback, Sir Donnerhall, Fuerst Heinrich, Rousseau, and Ferro.

Our mares are all Main Mare Book mares by notable sires such as Florestan, Sir Donnerhall, Relevant (Rubenstein), Fuerst Heinrich and Ferro.

We also provide quality care for horses needing lay-up, retirement, mare and foal care, and sales preparation.

At an elevation of 4700' about sea level, we enjoy temperate summers, much cooler than the surrounding Southern California valleys, yet we are just 40 minutes away from Temecula, Palm Springs and Hemet.

Our care, feeding and turnout are based on each horse’s individual needs.

We have irrigated and non-irrigated pastures of various sizes, including small daily turnouts, individual pastures, and multi-acre group pastures. All pastures include all-weather shelters, and paddock-sized catch pens.

Our main barn has 14' x 14' stalls

The main barn has 14’ x 14’ box stalls with straw bedding. Daily turnout to paddocks is included; turnout to grass paddocks is also available.

We feed high quality alfalfa, oat and timothy hay, and can feed supplements as needed.

Each horse is carefully checked throughout the day, and groomed on a regular basis.

Dr. Fred Zadik, Dr. Heather Mack and Dr. Michael Manno provide veterinary care on a regular basis, including traditional, holistic and chiropractic services. All horses receive routine vaccinations, worming and farrier care.

The Ranch Manager and staff reside on the Ranch, providing 24 hour a day supervision.

Anita Nardine, Owner

Anita Nardine breeds talented Oldenburg GOV and KWPN sport horses competitive with those found in Europe, using top stallions and main mare book mares. Her program has produced an extremely high percentage of premium foals at breed inspections. In 2011, all three foals presented at the Oldenburg GOV Foal Inspection were named Foals of Distinction, and Simone was the North American Champion Dressage Filly of the North American Inspection Tour.

Her young horses have received numerous awards at the national level: multiple placings in the top ten of the USDF Horse of the Year Sport Horse Breeding divisions, and championships and top rankings in the USDF All Breeds - Oldenburg GOV division.

She was also awarded both the Champion Colt/Gelding and Champion Mare/Filly from the California Dressage Society for 2010 and 2012. She was ranked 10th in the 2010 USDF Dressage Sport Horse Breeder of the Year awards.

A graduate of the USDF L Education Program with Distinction, she believes that education is key in further developing our sport, and to that end continues to attend USDF and USEF educational events including Sport Horse Clinics, Technical Delegate workshops, and Symposiums.

She is a USDF Bronze Medal recipient and active dressage competitor. She has also competed in Eventing and on the Arabian show circuit.

She has been active in the equestrian community, serving on the board of directors of Rose Bowl Riders and the Los Angeles Chapter of the California Dressage Society. She is a past president and former board member of the Flintridge Riding Club, and has served as show chair for its long-standing Dressage At Flintridge show.

She currently trains with Gerhard Politz. She has also had the good fortune to have trained with Hilda Gurney, Liz Denny and Wendy Wergeles, and has cliniced with Alfred Knopfhardt, Rachel Saavedra, Victor Hugo-Vidal, Capt. Mark Phillips, and Brian Sabo.
