Hohenstein / Glanzvoll (Grandus / Wells Agretta)
Haverford's Redhawk (Hohenstein/Grandus/Weltmeyer) produced the 2011 Oldenburg GOV N.A. Inspection Tour Reserve Champion Colt, DeHavilland, who is now competing at Prix St. Georges with Sarah Lockman. She has produced two stallion prospects and several premium foals.
Hohenstein was the 2002 Trakehner Stallion of the Year. He is by Caprimond out of Helena XIV (by Matador x Grimsel). At two, he won the premium title at his licensing. At three, he was the Reserve Champion of his Stallion Performance Test in Adelheidsdorf. He was a finalist in the five-year old division at the German Bundeschampionat. He trained up to Intermediaire II.
His get are stamped by beauty and excellent rideability. Hohenstein sired 30 licensed sons and more than 100 State Premium Mares. In 1999 Hohenstein was elected an Elite Stallion. He sires 65% black offspring, and seems to have a ‘nick’ with Weltmeyer mares. His most famous offspring include the late Hanoverian licensing champion His Highness and the Grand Prix dressage stallion Munchhausen.
